The chart that I looked at provided me with the information that students in Scituate High School has a low percentage of kids with personal or family problems compared with other local schools. But, they do have a high percentage of students that claim they have academic trouble. 19% of students said that they do not get along with the teachers in this school, which could lead to bigger problems and we were one of the only schools with this high of a percentage. On the safety end of things, 34% of students had been robbed at least once while in school and 8% have been bullied. Even though we are near the state average percentage of the number of times someone tried to sell them drugs, 29%, that is still very high.
Why might this be useful for us?
We get to see from the students point of view what they think of their school/teachers and how safe they think their enviornment is. The safer they feel in school, the more relaxed they can be and the better they can learn. The more they like their teachers, the more they will be willing to listen and learn.
